Our Story
Designer issei has been passionate about tokusatsu films since childhood, developing a deep fascination with the monsters, heroes, and distinctive retro-era character designs featured in them.
After graduating from an art university, he moved to Japan to study toy design and later worked on the design and sculpting of numerous Sofubi brands. In late 2020, he founded his own toy brand, 1st century toys, in Tokyo, officially beginning activities the same year.
Drawing inspiration from Japanese mythology, vintage Showa-era toys, and tokusatsu culture, the brand continues to create original toy works rooted in these influences. Currently based in Tokyo, issei actively participates in toy exhibitions and events around the world.
